We have enjoyed getting more eggs from our chickens and actually learned something this week. We learned, after realizing that a brown egg was in the nesting box after Penelope (the white chicken) left it, that our white chicken is laying the brown eggs and the brown chicken is laying the white eggs. John then googled it and found out that in fact the type of white chicken we have, an amberlink, lays brown eggs. Actually chickens have ears and whatever color their ears are, is the color egg they lay.....God is so creative! We have now given eggs away to both side neighbors...I mean how could they complains about chickens in their neighbor's backyard when they are getting free fresh eggs right?!?!? We just want to keep them happy if you know what I mean! We have also given some to our friends that chicken "sat" when we were out of town...It's fun to give them away although we eat a lot of eggs around here! Molly LOVES eggs! And her siblings and Daddy do too!
