Camping at Stone Mountain

We love Stone Mountain Camping...to this day J.D. still talks about the time we went when I was pregnant with Molly.  It feels like you are in the mountains but you are really just right outside of Atlanta.  There is a serene lake, beautiful woods and lots of nature.  The campground is huge! It is really well kept and has nice accomodations.  We saw an otter playing in the lake right out from our campsite this year....One of my most favorite things we did this past camping trip was our early morning family Bible time....We are in Joshua and we are at the part where Moses has handed over the reigns to Joshua and God is giving Joshua instructions.  He is talking to Joshua about crossing the Jordan...Joshua is looking out over at the Promised Land and feels very responsible of course for all of these israelites that are now under his instruction....That particular morning it was talking about how they were on one side of the Jordan, looking out over the water at the promised land ...they were getting their orders.  God was telling them to not be fearful or discouraged but that The Lord God was with them.  We sat on the side of Stone Mountain Lake that mountain and acted it out as I read, we thought about how the water was like the Jordan...deep, mysterious and that over there (Stone mountain) was the promise land and it looked so big and beautiful and grand...we discussed how the Israelites must have felt and how Joshua must have felt....it was one of the coolest things ever!  And the 999,999 reason I love camping!
