I almost hate posting these because we don't have some of these chickens anymore but I like the pictures and John Daniel caught Randy the Racoon in a trap in our backyard....hence why we don't have most of these same chickens anymore and he was one proud boy!
This huge racoon crawled on top of the chicken coop, unlatched an eye hook and opened a VERY heavy door to get 6 or our 8 teenage chickens...he killed them all but only ate 2. He has killed 3 others (last year)....so we think we have the culprit...He was soooo big and fat! John took him out to a friend's property and gave him a "dirt nap" as he says....
Since Randy the racoon, we have bought 2 more chickens plus the 2 he didn't get from the original 8....so we have 4 now and we hope to keep 4. I will post pics of them soon although taking pictures of our chickens seems to bring them bad luck ;)
