Lena, our 6 lb Toy Manchester Terrier, stayed with her friend Bailey and Rembrandt while we were on Vacation. Bailey and Rembrandt are two huge basset hounds. Their owner said that very quickly she put them in their place and at the end of the three day stay, she had them eating out of her very small bowl ....sharing it I might add....while she ate out of BOTH of their very large bowls. Lena would growl at them if they came near and they very obediently sat and watched until her belly was full and then she would "allow" them to eat the leftovers...She nipped their ears if they got out of control at all. WOW is all I can say...what a snob of a dog we have!
