Ecletic Kitchen

When we had our giant flood over the summer, John decided to rip out our pantry space before they put down the new floors so that the floor could be complete...in the hopes that one day we would get new cabinets, counter tops, and a new pantry space.  John has a vision for the kitchen remodel but it is very expensive....but why not go ahead and get the floors done right was his thinking.  He knocked down yet another two walls:)  After all was said and done....there still isn't money for new counter tops and cabinets which is fine...doesn't really bother me but we do have to have some sort of pantry to put food in.  So on our nifty little homeschool google group a lady that has really good taste was selling a piece of her furniture.  She has a huge family and had once used it for extra pantry space.  It was custom made to store lots of stuff and very solid wood.  So we bought it.  John refinished it by sanding it and giving it new paint and hardware.  It now acts as our pantry and it is more than enough space!  It is really roomy.

Some friends of ours were putting this dresser drawer out by the road for trash.....John picked it up, cut one end off to make it fit, took out two drawers, made them shelves, painted it and put new hardware on it as well....and look how cute it is now!  It's extra counter space, drawer space and has two cute little shelves for my cookbooks!

We put the microwave and coffee pot on it...which makes other counter space free now!

And his last awesome addition was a cute coffee nook made out of pallet wood.  He is so creative!  It is really cute...he even stenciled the letters that say coffee.

I love it and it all works beautifully!
