We have a woodpecker family that hangs out in a dead tree in our front yard...the kids love to watch the red headed woodpeckers fly around and go in and out of the trees....
During a windy storm, some of the branches from the tree fell...and we just had to explore what we saw...
In the dead tree there were many round holes that the woodpeckers had made....we also found acorns hidden in all of the holes...we guess by squirrels. It was really cool!
