Christmas Morning

From 5:00 pm on Christmas Eve until 6:30 pm Christmas Night we stayed at our house.  It was a very relaxing 24 hours....which is nice when some Christmas' are spent without our Daddy because of his shift work type of job.  I like to take advantage of the Christmas' when he is home!  The kids got up excited as ever even though Emily is very aware that Santa doesn't exist and John Daniel is days from figuring that one out.  This year John and I let the "big" stuff be from us....I mean why give Santa all the credit right?!?!

Molly got her own "American Girl Doll."  Or at least that is what she thinks....it is really the Target version but still very special!

Emily's shoes, TOM'S, that she wanted.

Every boy needs a remote control car!

Emily's face after she unwrapped a phone book...huh?!?!?!

Emily's face when she realized that an IPod Touch was hidden in a cut out portion inside of the phone book!  Daddy is soooo clever!

Totally excited!

Emily got a new Math program for Christmas....she was excited...I think!

My brand new stainless toaster and convection oven

John Daniel's most exciting gift was his air soft gun...

Molly's American Girl Horse

John got me some pottery...a collection of ours

And Daddy got an airsoft gun too!

I was really really really proud of the kids this year....with money they had earned at Market Days they decided to buy each person in the family a gift...the big kids each shopped for the other people, picked out something really personal and bought it with their own money.  They really worked hard picking things out that their siblings, mom and dad and uncle and grandparents would like.  I was really happy with their choices!

My Christmas morning breakfast....pigs n a blanket wreath:) and french toast casserole! While eating breakfast John had planned a Christmas Morning devotional...kind of a different twist on the traditional way we have done in the past of just reading the Christmas Story...instead John had prepared a lesson on the Wise Men and their Journey to worship Christ....which was about a 2 1/2 year journey.  It was very neat.  We are blessed indeed!
