John Daniel Starts 4-K

John Daniel's first day of Pre-K 4 was today. We love Celebration Preschool. Emily started there one day a week when she was 2 and went all the way through Kindergarten. John Daniel has Ms. Alice. Emily had her as well...we love Ms. Alice. She is quiet and reserved, not a big talker with the parents but great with the kids. She is super organized, very creative, loves teaching, and takes security and safety very seriously. John Daniel has 8 other "friends" in his class, three of which were in his class last year. He goes everyday 9-1. They do science, math, language arts, snack, resource, chapel, center time, manipulatives, reading, circle time, playground time, and lunch. John Daniel has been super excited and found it hard to wait a whole week after Emily went back. He dressed in nice new clothes and shoes and had his new backpack ready to go very early this morning. He was excited about the fish in their classroom (he got to feed it today), the snack basket, playing with the castle and knights in the room, and the big playground. When I picked him up, he didn't want to leave! He said that it was raining so a trip to the playground was out but they did go to the gym to play. He said they read a story about a little boy that didn't want to go to school. He says he still doesn't like having the "caboose" job. He painted a pretty picture with water colors and to his excitement got to use a different bathroom than last year...one that is outside down the sidewalk! It's the little things you know! He had a great first day!

A couple funny comments from J.D. today: In the picture above, he is wearing a John Deere shirt that Nee Naw gave him..it says "Will trade sister for tractor". He says to me this morning, "I have two sisters...that means I can get a tractor for me AND a tractor for Daddy!"

The mom of another student in his class has a nose piercing. She wears a tiny diamond stud in it. He says to me when we get in the car.."Mommy, that lady has a freckle on her nose that looks like a diamond."
